BASIC TOPICS IN EXPERIMENTAL COMPUTER SCIENCE

Basic Topics in Experimental Computer Science is an introduction to a report on this topic covering basic experimental research neglected in Academic Careers for Experimental Computer Scientists and Engineers. The sections of the report need to be written, and undoubtedly new topics for sections will prove important.

.dvi, .pdf and .ps versions are also available.

Tentatively, I will be the editor, but if someone who knows my deficiencies in that respect will volunteer, I'll defer.

Here are Complaints about the 1992 NRC report Computing the Future that led to a petition for its withdrawal signed by more than 900 computer scientists and computer engineers and also criticisms by McCarthy of the present report.
