On 1959 January 1 I wrote a memo to Professor Philip Morse, Director of the M.I.T. Computation Center proposing that we make the IBM 7090 that IBM promised to give M.I.T. and the New England Colleges into a time-shared machine. I had been talking about time-sharing at M.I.T. since 1957. .dvi
and .ps versions are also available.
